Birdathon
On Saturday, April 2nd the Santa Clara County Audubon Society will holding a “Birdathon Trip”, destination Pinnacles National Monument. This event Includes presentations by Park Condor Project staff on monitoring and management of Condor activities such as radio telemetry, video behavior, and husbandry techniques.
Depending on group interest, capabilities and nesting season success, the event may include hikes of several miles, being led by Howard Higley, Condor Project volunteer and SCVAS member. Your friends may want to pledge based on number of condors "detected" (hint: 28) or a more typical pledge based on number of species seen.
Details: Meet at Pinnacles National Monument at 8:30am. If you are coming from the Cupertino area, the first 8 people to sign up will be able to carpool. Be prepared to pack a lunch and refreshments. Snacks are also available at the Monument's Visito Center.
